HOLMAN STATE WAYSIDE

Visit this park by bicycling, jogging or walking along the paved path that begins four miles to the east in West Salem. Historically, the old territorial road of the 1850s passed through this wayside enroute to Dallas and points south. A spring on the property used to serve as a watering hole for people and their livestock. The wayside is covered with a stand of fir trees overlooking the Willamette River.
