Here are the Visitor's Tales for Cape Meares State Scenic Viewpoint.
My wife and I along with our two children 1 and 3 yrs old, just returned
from an outstanding visit to the Oregon Coast. We especially liked Cape
Lookout. The woods of D Loop were very nice and not too far from the
beach. There is so much to enjoy close by: Tillamook Cheese factory,
Cape Meares Lighthouse, The Air Museum and much more. We chose our site
reserved and paid for in total all on line this year which made check in
a real snap! It looks like Cape Lookout will be our destination of
choice for many years to come! Thanks.

I recently met the man of my dreams. He lives in Minnesota, and I here in Salem, Oregon. He made a trip here in April of this year and wanted to see the Pacific Ocean for the first time. We took the scenic drive northbound along the coast from Pacific City, and had the time of our lives! I was so proud of the way in which our state maintains the scenic areas, state parks, and overlooks. The highlight of our trip however, was in visiting Cape Meares lighthouse. It was here while we were standing next to the overlook (closest to the Octopus tree), that he asked me to be his wife. The moment was breathtaking and the atmosphere ideal (picture attached). This will truly be a place we will return to with fond memories of that special day on April 18th, 2003. Thanks to the 'friends of Cape Meares' for all the effort!
