Here are the Visitor's Tales for Silver Falls State Park.
Silver Falls has to be one of the most beautiful parks I've ever visited. I went as part of a group at a professional college conference two years ago, but I'm hoping to bring my whole family this year. Several other families are hoping to come with us and use the campsites. I'm sure they will love this park as much as I do. The well-groomed paths are excellent even for small children and I greatly enjoyed walking behind the falls!
I've been dreaming of going back to Silver Falls for two years and can hardly wait to share its serenity with my family! I'm sure that even my husband, who claims to hate camping, will not be able to complain about Silver Falls!

We had a family reunion at Silver Falls in July this year. My family
came from Florida. Some of us camped for a few nights beforehand. The
entire campground is beautiful, the weather was perfect and the kids had
great fun swimming in the day use area. The restrooms/showers in the
campground area were clean and the water was hot. Everywhere I looked,
there was a picture waiting to be taken! The scenery is just beautiful,
with wildfowers, brooks, tall evergreens, and of course lot's of falls.
The park employees were very friendly and helpful; thanks much for all your hard work. We can't wait to go back again someday.

I took my children (6,5,3) to the day-use area a couple of times this past summer and had a wonderful time. Although I have lived in Salem many years, I hadn't been to the falls for a long time. I was pleasantly surprised at how wonderful the water play was in the day-use area, with its paved bottom and "beach". Although my children are very young and are not yet swimmers, they were able to play in the water confidently and safely. Thank you for giving us such a beautiful place to while away a summer afternoon...

We had the pleasure of staying at Silver Falls State Park this summer. It was our first visit to Oregon. We stayed four days in Silver Falls and had a wonderful time. Not only was the camp site beautiful but it was well kept and the shower area very clean. Our day spent in the canyon walking from fall to fall was a highlight of our stay in Oregon. Earlier in the week we were on the coast and visited serveral state parks and again very impressed. We also spent some time on the Columbia Gorge and again visited serveral spots run by the state park system and enjoyed each visit. We will be comming back to spend more time in Oregon.

I'd just like to put in a plug for Silver Falls, especially the cabin loop. We visited in the Discovery Season (aka the dead of winter), and had a fabulous time. The cabins of the Oregon State Parks are the under-appreciated bargain gem in the state. The hiking loop with the many waterfalls is really lovely, and not too taxing. A great afternoon hike. We're looking forward to returning this spring!

We stayed in a cabin up at Silver Falls, it was our group's first time visiting. We arrived Friday evening after dark. The cabins are small, but they have room to sleep 6 but four is best if you go with couples. The cabins were plenty warm and they had a big fridge and a nice table to play cards on or eat. Our trip was filled with rain but it just so happened that Saturday morning it wasn't raining so we did the hike of 10 falls. It was beautiful and it didn't rain on us. It took us about five hours, so leave yourself enough time to get back to camp with enough light left where you don't get lost. As soon as we got back it rained and rained and rained all night long but the cabin kept us warm and dry. The showers are a bit odd so make sure you bring flip flops and a couple towels (one to put your clean clothes on). All in all silver falls was a great place to camp, but the firepit walls are very high so make sure you bring a ton of wood if you actually want to see your fire. I can't wait to return to Silver Falls.
