Here are the Visitor's Tales for Humbug Mountain State Park.
We were coming up the coast and .. stopped at Humbug first, but we drove on up to Cape Blanco and really enjoyed it. We are glad we picked Humbug to camp in as the beach access was much easier. It has a beautiful setting for a campground with good facilities and nice camp sites.
We stayed in several, but I think the nicest time we had was at Humbug Mountain. We liked it better than South Beach, for example, because it wasn't as "dense." You certainly could see your neighbors, but you didn't seem to be right on top of them as much. Next summer we are planning on spending a lot of time on the east side of the state so we will experience the state parks from the Enterprise to Burns.
Keep up the good work!

A couple of years ago my family went to humbug and I thought it was the
coolest place to go, and luckily for me were going again in August!
Humbug has nice views and a very beautiful beach and I cant wait to go there again.

Thank you, thank you, Oregon State Parks, for the wonderful experiences my husband and I have enjoyed every year at Humbug Mountain State Park for the past seven years! We happened upon this beautiful park one summer afternoon as we made our way up the state's incredible southern coast, stopped in for a few nights, and have been coming back every year since! Clean facilities, friendly hosts and employees, and the most incredible sights and sounds nature has to offer have us yearning for our yearly pilgrimage to "Humbug" as the time gets closer to our visit.
As a teacher, I encourage my students to "paint a picture with words" in their writing, and I often model the lesson by describing my special spot - which all my "kids" know is Humbug! I've even placed photos of the park on my school website, because I want to share the wonders of my little bit of heaven with my students! Thank you for the memories and for providing so many teachable opportunities!

Just returned from two weeks of camping in Oregon Parks. Our favorite park is Washburne with Cape Blanco a close second. We are unable to make reservations for our visit to campgrounds so we prefer the non reservation campgrounds. The sites at Washburne are private, ample, and well kept. Cape Blanco is central to many activities we enjoy....picking blueberries, drives up the Sixes river, crab & cheese in Bandon, hiking Humbug Mt. & Port Orford Head, and the local fair in Gold Beach. We packed alot into four days! Upon visiting your parks we are always encouraged by rangers/hosts to send comments on our stay. Thank you for another wonderful visit (we'll see you at Xmas) and thanks for all the hard work to keep Oregon Parks ready for the next trip north.

This will be my eighth or ninth year in going to Humbug during the
4th of July. I have spent many fun times on Humbugs beaches and in the camp
sites. The memories are awesome. Not only does Humbug have a great beach,
campsite and creek for fishing but it is close to the great little town of
Port Orford. And since Port Orford has antique stores, I will be visiting
quite often during my camping vacation. I wouldn't miss the fire works on
the beach either.
I am now preparing for this trip and even though alone this time, I
know I will enjoy and find what I am looking for.
